In an apartment located in a new building in the center of Moscow, according to the plan from the developer, two bathrooms were provided, and there was no place for utility rooms on an almost 150-meter area. Customers wanted the functionality to be provided to the maximum. In addition, adult children often come to them and stay overnight.

All these circumstances indicated that the space required redevelopment. As a result, three bedrooms were placed on one side of the apartment along the windows, a third bathroom and two dressing rooms were added, in which a supply and exhaust ventilation system was equipped. At the same time, it was possible to install air ducts into all rooms without "dropping" the ceiling, which turned out to be one of the most difficult tasks of the project.
If the owners made rather strict requirements for comfort, then design proposals in the design were encouraged and welcomed. They agreed to unusual color schemes and decor items, for example, they placed a painting by the artist Masha Yankovskaya from the "Smoking Woman" series in the living room.

When creating the interior, the author of the project used one of his favorite techniques: the contrast of the background and content, where the background - walls, floor and ceiling - is made in a classical manner, and the content - furniture, lamps, decor - in a modern one.
For the walls we used a coating from Little Green (Great Britain). Their design is based on a combination of a cold shade on the main surface and warm light inside the moldings, which gives the space a certain rhythm. The wall in the sofa area is decorated with a mirror panel, also framed by moldings. On the floor is a handmade carpet from Jerome Botanic (Italy).

The flooring in the living room is a massive board laid out in the "English herringbone", in the bedrooms - a parquet board. For the kitchen and bathrooms, at first they chose natural stone, but later they decided to opt for porcelain stoneware with a good pattern and texture, playing on contrasts.
In the daughter's room, made in gray-violet tones, they installed a bed with a high headboard, decorated with capitonné stitch. In the other two bedrooms, soft panels covered with fabric from ART Vision (Russia) were chosen for the walls in the headboard. In my son's bedroom, an open doorway leads to a walk-in closet. Teflon-coated velour curtains in all rooms.

When moving to a new home, the owners never moved their old furniture, and the author of the project, creating the interior from scratch, filled it with original items, such as, for example, puffs from Loffilab (Moscow) on a brass base, a pendant lamp in the dining area from Nemo from the Crown collection (Italy) on the "gold" fittings.

Textile plays a big role in the project. Curtains and bedspreads, like canvases saturated with color, set off the overall restrained palette.
"In an apartment with a round outer wall, it was necessary to place two large bedrooms, for the owners and their adult son, an office, two bathrooms and two dressing rooms," Maksim says. "I suggested moving away from the standard scheme and making the entrance to the bedroom through the dressing room. lined up very evenly and logically."

The round outer wall remained in the living room, the small study acquired two windows, and the bedrooms were combined with balconies - this added light and air to them. The dubious layout turned into a successful one, the architectural workshop of Maksim Novinkov received an order. But this, as you understand, is only part of the story.

All work was done very quickly - in just six months. "We tinkered at the beginning, revealing in detail every stroke of the layout and discussed the stylistic brief for a long time," says Maxim. "But as soon as we decided on all the inputs, the work went like clockwork."
The style of the assignment was not very clear. The customers saw the interior of their apartment as interesting, expressive and not overloaded with details. Maxim believes that this vagueness of requirements has benefited the project. "I myself don't like to grind and clog the interior with unnecessary details," the architect explains. "Large strokes, for example, highlighting one of the walls entirely, as in the living room and bedroom, the combination of several textures, in my opinion, makes it more solid."

The details that nevertheless made their way into the project did not end up here by accident either: in his office, Maxim Novinkov keeps a collection of items that will successfully fit into any interior designed with the help of architectural techniques. Do you want to know their secret? Here it is: good shape, handmade.
